Mikkeller Single Hop IPAs

Tasting two different Mikkeller Single Hop IPAs from draft at Churchkey in Washington DC. I went for a parallell tasting of the British hop East Kent Golding and the typical US West Coast IPA hop Centennial.

The East Kent Golding poured a hazy amber brown color with a massive, thick white head. Mild floral aroma. The flavor was mild for an IPA, though it had a nice bitter finish with some herbal notes.

The Centennial poured a darker brown color with a thinner, white head. Aroma was more floral with citrus and pine notes. Very hoppy flavor, compared to the East Kent Golding, with a dominant pine note. Long bitter aftertaste. Typical west coast IPA!
