Question by Troy K: How much does the prevalence of curly hair vary throughout Europe?

I have heard many things about curly hair being associated with African ancestry. Now, there is genetic evidence of varying amounts of DNA from African migrations into Europe, or contact with Phoenicians and the like, in certain regions, but I'm not sure how much to believe it. I want to know if the prevalence of curly hair matches up with the appropriate regions. Is curly hair significantly more common around the Mediterranean and the Balkans than elsewhere in Europe?
Edit: I have a pretty sweet head of curly hair too.

i dunno but i have a head of awesomely curly hair and i'm half white half black!
