Social, We'll, Work, Without, Societies, collective, collectives, fiscally

Question by Judicator:

How well do fiscally collective societies work without social collectives?

To operationalize my terms really quick, a fiscal collective structure would be a strong welfare state, where through the tax system people are interconnected and fiscally dependent or attached to each other to operate, and any action creates domino effects.

Social collective is the idea of individuals being place below an institution, or in general, individual pain comes after societal pain.

For example, high taxes are pains towards individuals to further general societal welfare, the need of the collective trumps the individual rights in this aspect, but does this lead to further trumping of the individual?

I've been wondering about this for quite a while now, a lot of the east asian cultures have social collectives in place as traditional institutions, and between east Asian countries you have individual and collectivist fiscal settings.

But the recent combination of fiscal collectives and social individualism is relatively new within the west. There is generally a perversion between these concepts when they are combined, as one is more dependent on the other. That social individualism gives way to fiscal collectivism, money generally speaks better and protections and increases to fiscal collectivism requires restriction of social individualism (and fiscal individualism but that is a moot point).

I classify the EU as the poster child for this combination with fiscal collectivism being the traditional institution, and social individualism bieng the newer insitution.

while, pre 1930 US fiscal/social individualism, 1930's lead to an increase in fiscal ties, consequently the 40s/50s would very much be classified period of increaed social collectivism, WW2 draft, red scare, etc. In the 60's/70's it moved toward social individualism while staying a social collective, the following decades have been pushing towards social collectivism again.

So, question #1,
Are these institutions at odds, is such a system unstable (meaning it will change to something else) in the long run?

question #2
So as fiscal collectivism increases in the US, do you expect to see an increase in social collectivism?

question #3
What are your thoughts on the topic?
